Follow these simple tips to keep your countertops looking new and prolong their lifespan:

Routine Cleaning: Use a soft, clean cloth with mild soap and warm water. Always wipe the surface dry after cleaning to prevent water spots.

Immediate Action: Clean spills immediately, as certain liquids can cause permanent staining if left to sit.

Disinfecting: If needed, use a diluted bleach solution (1 part bleach to 100 parts water, or approximately 5 tbsp per gallon).

Abrasive Use: You may use a Scotch-Brite™ pad inside the sink basin to remove residue; however, DO NOT use it on the countertop surface, as it will dull the finish.

Heat & Scratch Protection: Always use trivets or hot pads under pans and bakeware. We also recommend using placemats under dishes in dining areas to prevent surface wear.

Repairability: In most cases, solid surface materials can be professionally repaired if the damage is not too severe.

🛑 What to Avoid: The "Never" List

Solid surface is durable but sensitive to heat and certain chemicals. To keep it looking new, avoid the following:

Direct Heat (The #1 Rule): Solid surface is made of acrylic or polyester resins. Extreme heat will cause it to crack or melt. Never place hot pans, crockpots, or electric griddles directly on the surface. Always use a trivet with rubber feet.

Cutting Directly on the Surface: While solid surface is "renewable," it is softer than stone. Metal knives will leave scratches. Always use a cutting board.

Harsh Chemical Exposure: Avoid contact with strong chemicals such as paint removers, oven cleaners, or acetone (nail polish remover). If a spill occurs, flush the area with water immediately.

The "Thermal Shock" Crack: If you have an integrated solid surface sink, never pour boiling water directly into it without running the cold water tap at the same time. The sudden temperature change can cause the material to crack.
